Ankur Dev

Postdoctoral Associates

Overview

Ankur will join CCAPS on October 1st, 2026 as a Postdoctoral Associate working with Professor Dongwoo Chung and Professor Nicholas Battaglia. His work involves developing data reduction workflows, detector timestream analysis pipelines, and map-making methods for continuum and spectrometer cameras of the Prime-Cam instrument, installed on the Fred Young Submillimeter Telescope (FYST) / CCAT Observatory. He works on modelling atmospheric and instrumental systematics and building scalable HPC-based data reduction pipelines for large observational datasets. During his PhD at the University of Bonn, Germany he studied the impact of atmospheric 1/f noise on power spectrum measurements using realistic end-to-end timestream simulations and analyzed the recovery of large-scale modes in the presence of correlated atmospheric noise.

Research Focus
His main research interest is studying the large-scale structure (LSS) of the post-EoR Universe using Line-Intensity Mapping (LIM) technique. He is also interested in Sunyaev–Zel’dovich (SZ) galaxy clusters and Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) observations with next-generation millimeter and sub-millimeter experiments and data analysis.
