Keefe Mitman

Hubble Postdoctoral Fellow

Overview

Keefe comes to us strait from serving as a  postdoctoral researcher with TAPIR at the California Institute of Technology working on both computational and theoretical gravitational physics. He is interested in a maelstrom of topics; his primary research is concerned with using numerical relativity to study a unique and mind-wrenching phenomenon: gravitational memory.

He carries out this work using a Cauchy-Characteristic evolution (CCE) algorithm as a part of our Spectral Einstein Code (SpEC) belonging to the Simulating eXtreme Spacetimes (SXS) Collaboration.

Apart from his passion for mathematics and physics, he is  an avid backpacker/hiker and is doing his best to enjoy the temperate West Coast, despite my origins in the chilly Midwest. I think he will enjoy our Ithaca winters and encourage him to explore our many hiking options in the area.
