Anna Y.Q. Ho

Assistant Professor of Astronomy

Summary

Anna Ho's primary interests are in energetic transients and time-domain astronomy. Her overarching goal is to connect the final stages of massive-star evolution and the formation of compact objects to the observed characteristics of supernovae, transients, and compact-object remnants. To that end, she makes heavy use of wide-field surveys (ZTF, DESI) and targeted observations spanning the electromagnetic spectrum (Swift, Chandra, Gemini, Keck, SMA, NOEMA, ALMA, VLA), and works to understand the physical processes governing the observed emission. She is an active member of the ZTF, CMB-S4, and DESI collaborations, and serves as co-chair of the CMB-S4 Sources & Transients Working Group.
