The Black History Month Wikithon is an event hosted by #BlackInPhysics and held in collaboration with the American Institute of Physics. #BlackInPhysics is a grassroots movement dedicated to celebrating Black physicists and their contributions to the scientific community.
Despite their contributions to the United States’ physical sciences enterprise, Black physicists and astronomers’ names and achievements have been historically and routinely overlooked. Throughout the last week in February, #BlackInPhysics is hosting a Black History Month Wikithon to uplift and highlight Black physicists who have made lasting contributions to research, education, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
From February 22-26, AIP will be hosting information drop-in sessions for Wikithon editors seeking resources and best practices for citing sources on Wikipedia pages. Volunteers can type their questions into the chat box below, and a member of our team will work one-on-one with the editor to provide guidance and resolve any issues.
