Overview

Maryame El Moutamid is an expert in orbital dynamics and celestial mechanics, especially orbital resonances and mechanisms of capture into mean motion resonances for satellites and exoplanets.

Affiliations

  • Carl Sagan Institute
  • Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science

Research

Her current research concerns planetary ring dynamics and satellite orbital dynamics, and their connections with giant planet interior structure. She completed her PhD at Paris Observatory in September 2013 and is currently a Research Associate at Cornell University.
