GRADUATE STUDENTS:

Akshay Kulkarni

Akshay works on the effects of relativity and light travel time on the variability curves of millisecond period neutron stars. Currently he is performing 3D MHD simulations of disk accretion to such stars, to study "hot spots" on their surface, which cause the variability.

Min Long

Min works on numerical modeling of disc accretion to magnetized stars with complex magnetic field, including combination of the dipole and quadrupole field and off-centered dipole field. He also works on the rotational equilibrium state. He also plans to investigate quasi-periodic oscillations associated with the disk-magnetosphere interaction.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:

Justin Wick

Justin performs parallelization of the 3D MHD code developed for investigation of the disk accretion to the inclined rotator, visit to home page of Justin Wick
Greg Chulsky

Greg investigates physics of shut-off pulsars at the ejector stage, MHD processes near the light cylinder and possibility of their observations
