Trip to Baikal Lake - Olkhon Island

Olkhon island is the largest island in Baikal and is located approximately in the middle.
 We reserved place in the Solnechnaya tourist base and went there by bus arranged by this
tourist firm.

It took about 7 hours from Irkutsk by mini-bus, but the ride was interesting.

We often have seen the Baikal lake at the right sight.

 We took a ferry to the island.

Electricity and telephone connection came to the island about one year ago.

We took a bus to the village Khuzir.

We went to investigate the island.

The main local attraction is the Shaman Rock which considered to be a saint place in local
Shamanism religion.

On the way back from  the Shaman Rock.

                                There is a small beach nearby. Water was very very cold, but some people were swimming. We
                                also decided to swim. The technique was to run to the water and in few seconds to run back.
                                Other approaches did not work

We went to the Khuzhir village.

And even found Internet House.
