Many people love astronomy and curious to learn more.  It is one of our goals to explain to people this complicated and interesting subject in clear words. On the photo: Ms. Marjorie Lovelace (right) has a tour of Astronomy Department.

WORK WITH ITHACA SCIENCENTER:  I  wrote a scenario of the computer program  "Life of a Star" which was developed for Ithaca  Sciencenter  (with advises of the Executive Director Charles Trautmann) and will be displayed there as a part of the Exhibit. Developers of the program: Jillian Hughes, Lynn Bacigalupo, David Goldfeder.  The project was supported by the NASA E/PO grant (download  "Life of a Star", you may also need to download Macromedia Flash Player 7 program).

A newer version of the "Life of a Star" program has been developed by Paul Davis (Cornell University) and by Maureen Bell and become part of Ithaca  Sciencenter Astronomy display called "Mars and Stars". Another interesting program "Infrared Filter Wheel" has been developed and become part of the "Mars and Stars"  .

IAU TAD PROGRAM:  We visited Kazakhstan with lectures on modern astronomy in the frames of the IAU TAD  (Teachnig for Developing Countries) Program. This is my report: IAU TAD report.doc

WORK WITH CORNELL THEORY CENTER: I wrote a paper about our research for the public. It was well edited by the  Cornell Theory Center E/PO staff (http://www.tc.cornell.edu/nr/shared/ctc-main/research/profiles/USRussia.pdf).

FRIENDS OF ASTRONOMY: We wrote a paper "Looking at the Universe through a Numerical Telescope" (co-author: Patricia Fernandez de Castro) to the Friends of Astronomy journal "Orion" where described our research in a popular way   (http://www.astro.cornell.edu/pdfs/orionnews/Orion04.pdf, p.3).

WEB PAGE:  I guided the development of a Cornell web site describing current results on magnetohydrodynamics of accretion flows (http://www.astro.cornell.edu/us-russia/). The page was developed by Olga Toropina, who is participant of our scientific group.
