OCEAN
Opportunity Pancam: This image was taken by Opportunity's Pancam cameras at the edge of
Eagle Crater, pointed toward the setting sun.  A process called decorrelation stretch
was applied to the multispectral image for studying photometric effects of light on the
surface of Mars--a scientist's "palette" not intended to be a true color rendering.
The image evokes a sense of a past ocean or shallow sea that may have once covered
this now-dry region of Mars.
