3D SIMULATIONS OF DISK ACCRETION TO AN INCLINED DIPOLE. HOT SPOTS AND VARIABILITY 

Time evolution of the hot spots on the surface of the star shown in the coordinate system rotating with the star at different misalignment angles Q ( which is an angle between the magnetic axis of the star and rotation axis of the star/disk W). 

The color background shows the density of matter in the hot spots which reflects the density distrubution in the incoming funnel streams. The spots move along the surface of the star and settle at a preferred position. The star rotates slowly (W=0.04 WK) so that the funnel stream and the spot have tendency to rotate faster than the star.
