Workshop for high school STEM teachers:
NASA Wallops Flight Facility is pleased to announce the seventh Wallops Rocket Academy for Teachers (WRATS), June 19 - June 23, 2017.
This professional development opportunity offers high school teachers a unique look into NASA's Sounding Rocket Program utilizing the expertise
of program engineers and technicians to learn the basics of rocketry as well as flight and safety operations. The week culminates in the launch
of Terrier-Orion rocket containing payloads built by college and university students in the RockON! and RockSAT-C programs. These programs are being
held simultaneously along with the WRATS workshop as part of NASA Wallops' Rocket Week.
A $1000 stipend will be provided upon completion of the workshop requirements to help offset any travel and lodging expenses. A block of rooms at the Wallops Lodge
has been reserved for participants. Lodging costs per night are $59 for single occupancy (double occupancy is not possible). Contact information for the Wallops Lodge
will be provided once you have been accepted as a participant.
Space is limited, so please apply soon as possible! Participants must be US Citizens.
