This project offers students the opportunity to explore Mars on a personal, direct level. Students will create an observation plan and, with the help of spacecraft controllers, will send the commands to the spacecraft in orbit around Mars. When the spacecraft has completed the requested observations, it will send the image back to Earth where it will be processed and analyzed by your students. A proposal is written to request spacecraft time (just as real scientists have to do). If your proposal is not selected, you can do your research project using archived data.
