A2290 will cover the basics of special and general relativity in an astronomical context. The prerequisites are high school level physics and trigonometry with some exposure to calculus. It is not necessary to have taken an astronomy course previously. My plan will be to post notes before each lecture. However, this is my first time through the course so I may not always make it. We'll see how it goes.

If you wish to take the make-up final, you must let me know by the last day of classes ( Friday, December 4).
